Michael is a community leader at the Tigray Community Center in Boston and a Board member at Tigray Development Association in North America (TDA-NA). He arrived in the United States from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as a teenager seeking refuge from political violence. Today, he serves as a medical interpreter, translating not only language but culture, memory, and resilience. Michael’s life reflects the quiet power of continuity—carrying forward Tigrayan values, language, and spiritual wisdom across oceans.
