Bridge to Belong’s roots are grounded in more than 25 years of working alongside children and families living through war, persecution, loss, and resettlement, including those who lost parents on 9/11. In these spaces, we came to understand that trauma is not only individual, but collective—rippling through relationships, communities, and generations.

One young participant told us clearly: “this work needs to go beyond these walls.” He recognized that if collective healing spaces and practices were brought more fully into the world, something better could emerge.

Bridge to Belong continues to expand our work, rebuilding connection and creating the conditions for healing, community resilience, and a more hopeful future.
